Our Story and Formation

In the heart of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, Rattlesnake emerged in 2020 as a beacon of innovation in the digital landscape. Our founders, armed with cutting-edge technological expertise and consultancy acumen, identified a critical market gap: the need for a fresh, tech-driven approach in an increasingly digital world. We seized the opportunity to harness the power of digital market penetration, particularly as many existing players were slow to adapt to the ever-changing technology landscape.

While conventional professional services in strategy and operations seemed saturated, we recognised that the digital realm offered a dynamic playground where young, talented professionals could truly excel and make their mark.

At Rattlesnake, we operate at the intersection of design, development, and marketing—a trifecta that forms the backbone of our innovative approach. We firmly believe that technical prowess alone is insufficient to build commercially successful projects. True market dominance stems from the seamless integration of these three pillars, resulting in products that function flawlessly, captivate users and dominate the marketplace.

A world-class software development team without user-centric design driven by extensive UX research may fall short of delivering a product that users truly love. Conversely, a stellar design team can craft a visually stunning interface, but without robust product architecture and clean, efficient code, the interface alone won't suffice. Finally, without the strategic insights of a savvy marketing team, these two pillars may lack the crucial understanding of consumer behaviour needed to convert users into loyal customers.

This is where our unique blend of expertise shines. We believe that only by synergising design, development, and marketing,  one can create successful products that will win in the market and set new standards in the digital landscape.

While our core focus remains digital and technology-driven, we approach every project with a commitment to rigorous research, in-depth analysis, and unwavering focus on commercial viability.

2023: A Year of Growth

2023 was a transformative year for our digital studio. We experienced a surge in demand, with a significant portion of our business stemming from repeat clients and referrals. Our collaborative efforts spanned diverse sectors, including Banking & Finance, FinTech, PropTech, HealthTech, and LegalTech. We've also forged partnerships with several Fortune 500 companies, spearheading the development of new products from the ground up. These products are now used by hundreds of thousands of users every month.

Today, 70% of our business is driven by existing clients and their recommendations—a strong testament to the value our partners see in our work.

Venture Studio Launch

August 2024 heralded a new chapter in our journey with the launch of our venture studio. This milestone goes beyond mere service provision; it's a declaration that we're builders at heart, facing the same challenges as our startup and scale-up clients. Our "From Founders to Founders" approach is a commitment to walk alongside you, understanding the unique challenges startups and scale-ups face because we are experiencing them ourselves.
